Join Our Team as a Wildlife Veterinary Nurse in Kildare Town, Co Kildare! 

Are you passionate about wildlife and looking to make a meaningful impact for biodiversity in Ireland? We are seeking a dedicated Wildlife Veterinary Nurse to join our team at our busy Wildlife Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in Kildare Town, Co Kildare.

This exciting opportunity allows you to work directly with a variety of native species, ensuring they’re rehabilitation back to the wild, in a very friendly and positive work environment.

Position Details

  • Title: Wildlife Veterinary Nurse
  • Location: Kildare Town, Co Kildare
  • Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible days and times)
  • Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)

What You'll do

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for injured, sick, or orphaned wildlife.
  • Assist veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures, including anaesthesia and post-operative care.
  • Conduct health assessments, administer medications, and perform diagnostic tests.
  • Monitor and document animal behaviour, treatment progress, and release readiness.
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Educate the public about wildlife conservation and responsible practices.
  • Collaborate with a team of passionate veterinary professionals and volunteers.
  • Assist in training and mentoring interns or new staff to ensure a high standard of care.

What We’re Looking For

  • A diploma or higher in veterinary nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a veterinary setting; wildlife experience is a plus but not mandatory
  • Excellent communication skills for both public interaction and for working as part of the team
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • A compassionate and dedicated approach to animal welfare
